The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of virtual education and information technology governance in the managers of the Islamic Azad University of Khuzestan. The present study was a descriptive-correlational study in terms of applied research. The statistical population of the present study consisted of directors and deputy directors of the Islamic Azad University of Khuzestan province. 185 directors and deputy directors of Islamic Azad University of northern Khuzestan province (Islamic Azad University of Dezful, Shoosh, and Andimeshk) were randomly selected using a stratified random sampling method. They were selected as the statistical sample of the study. The data gathering tool was Zahirikhah's virtual education questionnaire (2014), Dinardwendik information management governance questionnaire (2013), and voluntarily volunteer questionnaire (2012). The validity of the questionnaires was verified using face validity. Data were analyzed by SPSS software (Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Pearson correlation coefficient and multivariate regression). The results of this study showed that Virtual education and IT governance have a positive and significant effect on the merits of managers of Islamic Azad universities in the north of Khuzestan province (Dezful, Andimeshk and Shoosh universities). Virtual training has a positive and significant relationship with meritocracy. The governance of information technology has a positive and meaningful relationship with meritocracy.
